Written by on August 4, 2023

DJG (UK) is not just your average DJ; he’s an inspirational soulful house DJ and producer hailing from the UK, driven by an unwavering passion for music. His belief in the transformative power of music is at the core of his artistry.

DJ G has graced stages of all sizes, captivating audiences of all ages. His musical journey spans from providing emotional resonance at funerals and weddings to using his talent to raise funds for various charitable causes. One notable instance was his marathon 24-hour performance in a supermarket in 2003 for Children In Need UK.

In 2004, DJ G made his debut at the Cowley Road Carnival in Oxford, where he played for crowds exceeding 35,000. Over the years, his presence has continued to elevate the carnival, now drawing in 55,000 eager listeners.

Following his remarkable 24-hour set in 2003, DJ G took his commitment to a global level, hosting events like “JAM FOR JAPAN” and “HELPING HAND FOR NEW ZEALAND” after the devastating Japanese tsunami of 2011.

His talent has also graced television screens, with appearances on Channel 4, ITV, and BBC game shows.

From 2008 to 2012, DJ G hosted ‘The Urban Gospel Experience’ on BBC Radio Oxford’s Sunday night lineup. In October 2019, he embarked on a new radio venture, ‘DJ G’s Soulful House,’ also on BBC Radio Oxford.

DJ G’s influence extends worldwide through his live-streamed performances on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, regularly amassing around 4,000 views per video. His mixes resonate in over 90 countries, all available for free download on his website: www.inspirationalsoulfulhouse.com. His production talents even graced ITV’s ‘Love Your Garden’ in October 2019 with the track ‘I Cling to You (DJG House Remix),’ sung by Dee Moore.

But DJ G’s impact transcends music. He’s a multifaceted individual, from playing at the Oscars Pre-gifting suite to supporting his Pride of Britain award-winning mother at the Oxford community soup kitchen (icolynsmithfoundation.co.uk). He shatters stereotypes by teaching DJ skills at various schools in Oxfordshire and Berkshire, catering to diverse age groups and children with disabilities. A significant milestone came on January 18, 2020, when DJG and his son Darius featured on BBC 1’s ‘The Greatest Dancer.’ It marked a series first, with presenter Alesha Dixon and Dance Captains joining them on stage for an unforgettable performance.
